The short version
- We collect what we need to run your account, read your documents and post them to your books.
- Customer documents are never used to train shared models.
- We don’t sell personal information, and we don’t use your documents for advertising.
- The public demo on our Try page reads your file in your browser. It isn’t uploaded to us.
What we collect
Information you give us
Your name, work email, company, role and billing details when you create an account or start a plan. Messages you send through our contact form or support.
Customer documents
Invoices, receipts and bills you upload or forward, the fields Parsel extracts from them, and the corrections and approvals your team makes.
Information collected automatically
Device and browser type, IP address, pages visited and actions taken in the app. We use this to keep Parsel secure and to understand which features help. See our cookie policy.
From connected services
When you connect QuickBooks Online, Xero or NetSuite, we receive the account details needed to post records, such as your chart of accounts, vendors and tax codes.
How we use it
- To provide Parsel: reading documents, suggesting accounts and syncing approved records.
- To learn your preferences: corrections improve suggestions for your own workspace only.
- To bill you, provide support and send service messages.
- To keep Parsel secure, prevent abuse and meet legal obligations.
- To send product news, only if you opt in. You can unsubscribe at any time.
Your documents
IN PLAIN LANGUAGEYour receipts are yours. We read them to do the work you asked for, and that’s it.
Parsel processes customer documents on your behalf as a processor. We don’t use them to train shared models, sell them, or look at them except to provide the service, resolve a support request you open, or where the law requires. Our Data Processing Addendum sets out these commitments in detail.
How long we keep it
Account information is kept while your account is open. Customer documents follow your workspace retention setting and are deleted within 30 days of account closure. Backups roll off within a further 35 days.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict some processing. California residents can ask what we collect and request deletion, and we don’t sell or share personal information for cross-context advertising.
To make a request, use our contact form. We reply within 30 days.
International transfers
Parsel is run from the United States. Where we transfer personal information from the EU, UK or Switzerland, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses and equivalent safeguards.
Changes and contact
If we make a material change, we’ll tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect. Questions about privacy? Contact our privacy team.
